If I had any experience with tabletop RPGs I would try to guess which class each of them is playing, but I will wager that Chantilly is the DM.
Chan would definitely be the DM. I don't envy her. Nita has probably never played a RPG before, Shelby just wants to kill everything, and Patience is trying to grok the whole concept.
Maybe they're playng Offices & Employers, an RPG with a setting where everyone is of the same species and magic doesn't exist.
That's a very similar game to Papers & Paychecks, which uses the old rules base developed by TSR.
I like how Nita and Shelby have basically the same expression when Rosie tells them it's bedtime!

Aww, I love the idea of them staying up and telling stories together. Something like this just reminds me of my childhood. :-)
All-night talks, RPGs, exploring the woods and fields by moonlight. Great times.

Shelby's trunk, as promised, has now been decorated. It's under the bed there, behind Chantilly. Looks like she chose both shark's teeth AND eyeballs.
I have no idea what game they're playing, but Patience is taking the rules quite seriously.
