I don't know if I've said this before, but the Saints are one of my favorite things about this comic, and it's awesome to get some pages focused on them. It's neat how Java and Hellbender are opposites that complement each other, and I'm really curious to see what some of the other Saints are like, and how students of other schools are helped by them. They're so cool! Honestly still trying to wrap my head around the concept of them.
We have a whole document that details how Saints work, but it's pretty boring in the telling, so we hope to do more in the showing. Some are big, some are small, some have great influence and others not so much. Even smaller saints have big egos, and it's rare to have two share turf like this.
Goodness! Shelby seems to be hot for teacher...
Shelby is just being a nosy, curious teenager, mostly, though there may be a touch of innocent crush going on here, too.

Saint Java won't help you study, focus, or persevere (that's Hellbender's job) but she can certainly give you energy and keep you awake.
