That's so cute. It's kinda sad that her friends aren't who she goes to first, but it makes sense that Shelby would identify with the mechanic/handyman, especially after what Chantilly said. Pretty clever way to get Riley to show up, too. I hope it's not always as terrifying as the first time Shelby summoned them.
It's not so much that she doesn't go to her friends- it's just that she doesn't go to them for certain things. Yet. After all, she really hasn't known them for that long. Shelby is gregarious and fun, but that's the face she shows the world to get along. She might still find Chan a bit distracted and strange (thus the current problem,) Patience is far out, and Nita... well, there was the tail incident, and even though apologies were offered and accepted... but this might be a real chance for some bonding. I have a feeling that Nita and Shelby will find that they have a bit in common.
