The Extras is a modern take on a classic boarding school story, a slice-of-life comedy / fantasy about the everyday adventures of growing up. Located in the City, the School of Saints Java and Hellbender is as much a character in the story as the girls from almost everywhere who live and learn there, and just as full of secrets.

Chantilly, a few years ago, just before her final growth spurt... though she's still not as tall as her mom (her dad is quite short.)

Happy Mother's Day, five days late. Chantilly's mom's earrings are chunks of rock from the Moon of Lore, and the moth pendant is a gift from a Lunarian friend.

Special thank-you to the Cranbrook Institute of Science for letting me photograph their telescope and observatory and using it in this comic as a stand-in for Thadak University's observatory. If you're ever in the northern suburbs of Detroit, I highly recommend a visit to the Cran huhbrook campus. There's the historical house, gardens, art museum, the previously mentioned science museum, school, and lots of great walking to be had.

This page also marks FOUR YEARS of doing The Extras, a page a week, no breaks or hiatuses! Hard to believe, but we did it and are still doing it!

We plan to have Book 3 out sometime by late summer. I'll have it with me for sale at whatever fall conventions I end up attending, as well as by mail, as usual!
